Andrews Posts Podium at Attica and Makes Gains at Fremont

Inside Line Promotions – FREMONT, Ohio (June 6, 2018) – Thankfully the weather is starting to improve in North Central Ohio allowing Chris Andrews and the Burmeister Racing Team the opportunity to gain track time and make improvements on the handling of their 410ci winged sprint car.
The results are showing as Andrews scored a third-place finish last Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, before he narrowly missed a top 10 at Fremont Speedway on Saturday.
The finishes helped propel Andrews back into the top four in the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series standings. He finished second in the FAST Series in 2017 while claiming the track championship at Attica Raceway Park.
Andrews’ qualifying efforts have been very good. On Friday at Attica Raceway Park he qualified first in his group and Saturday at Fremont Speedway he timed in sixth overall.
“We have been qualifying well, but have struggled in the features a little,” he said. “We are trying new stuff every week and really felt good at Attica coming from seventh to third.
“I got caught up in dirty air in our heat at Fremont and fell back a spot, which cost us an opportunity to start up front in the feature. For some reason as soon as we get behind cars we struggle and the car gets really tight. We’re going back to doing things with the car that we did four years ago and we’re making gains.”
Andrews will compete in a FAST doubleheader this Friday at Attica Raceway Park and Saturday at Fremont Speedway.
“As the tracks start to slick off with the hotter weather I think we will be all right,” he said. “This team is capable of winning five or six shows this year.”
