FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Saturday, May 21, 2022 FREMONT, Ohio – Following the feature event for the Burmeister Trophy Dirt Trucks at Fremont Speedway on Saturday, May 14, inspections were held on the top three finishers’ trucks. The first and third place trucks - #25 and #P51 - were determined to be in violation of the division’s rules and were disqualified. The points were taken away and prize money will have to be repaid to the track. Second place finisher Shawn Valenti has been declared the winner. Valenti now has 70 career wins at Fremont Speedway and puts him just six feature wins away from tying Art Ball atop the track’s all-time win list. Drivers who finished fourth on back will be credited with finishing two spots higher in the official finish and will receive the difference in their purse. Jeff Babcock’s track record during qualifications on May 14 will also be disallowed and Jamie Miller’s qualification time of 17.221 seconds set on May 14 will be the new track record for the truck division. The track’s decision is final and the two trucks who were in violation of the division rules will have to be inspected again to determine if the offenses have been corrected in order to compete.
