FREMONT, Oh. (Aug. 11) - Butch Schroeder hasn't been in a 410 sprint for most of the summer. He made the most of a new opportunity Saturday at Fremont Speedway as he captured the Style Crest 50 lap feature.
Schroeder was piloting the #9x normally driven by Rob Chaney. Chaney was competing at the Knoxville Nationals aboard a Jack Elden team car #22 and was set to compete with the Al Star Circuit of Champions in the Denny Ashworth #92 in the Thunder Through the Plains.
Schroeder, from Liepsic, Ohio, debutted in the #9x on Friday at Fremont and failed to make the A-Main. However, he more than made up for it Saturday with the $5,000 victory as "The Track that Action Built was celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Behind Schroeder was Friday night's Fremont feature winner Rodney Duncan, Mark Keegan, Phil Gressman and Kelly Kinser.
Bryan Scott picked up his 7th win of the season in the 305 sprint division over Bobby Foster, Friday night's winner, and Bill Kraylek. Dustin Keegan, who took a hard flip Friday, came back to score a fourth place finish Saturday.
John Rhoads captured his first feature win at Fremont in the Dirt Truck division over Friday night's feature winner Danny Roepke, Steve Sabo, Jeff Dougherty and Bobby Davis.
Fremont Speedway will take the next two weekends off as the fairgrounds hosts the annual Sandusky County Fair.
