FREMONT, Oh. - Cortney Rapp, the 305 sprint driver seriously injured in a crash at Fremont Speedway on opening night, is improving daily. According to her family, Cortney came out of her coma Tuesday and was taken off the ventilator.

Rapp is still in the intensive care unit at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Hospital in Toledo. Here father, Ed Kennedy, said she is communicating with family members on a limited basis and will soon begin rehabilitation work. He said she still has a lot of work ahead of her in her recovery and can use a lot of prayers and encouragement.
