FREMONT, Oh. - A new half hour radio show will debut Monday, May 7 on WFRO AM 900-FM 99.1, Fremont, dedicated to area racing. "The Last Lap" will be broadcast from 5:30-6 p.m. every Monday.
Hosting the show will be long-time Fremont Speedway announcer Brian Liskai and lifelong racing fans, Scott Barman and his son, Andrew "The Dirt Track Kid" Barman. The Barmans have helped host "Racing World," a two-hour radio show on WFIN 1330 AM out of Findlay the past three years. Liskai is the son of long-time sprint car driver Al Liskai and has helped work on sprint cars his entire life. He has been a track announcer for over 15 years including at some of the biggest dirt track venues in the nation such as Eldora Speedway, Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway, KC Raceway (Chillicothe, Oh.) and Fremont Speedway.
"The Last Lap" will focus on area racing results from Fremont Speedway and other tracks, along with driver, crew and owner interviews and previews of upcoming races.
"This is a win-win for everyone...local race fans, the Fremont area community, Fremont Speedway, WFRO and our sponsors. The show will be very informative and a lot of fun. We'll have some special guests and great racing conversation," said Liskai. "Right now we've got three sponsors for 'The Last Lap' - Fremont Speedway, Foster's Auto Body and Sabroskie Electric. If we can get more sponsors on board, we can expand the show to an hour every Monday."
Primary sponsorship for "The Last Lap" is $22 per week for two 30 second commercials per show. Associate sponsorships are available for $15 per week for one 30 second commercial per show.
