FREMONT, Ohio - With so much
on the line this weekend at Fremont Speedway - the Kistler Racing Products
Fremont Attica Sprint Title (FAST) Championship and its $10,000 top prize
- track promoter Rich Farmer has decided to add a rain date of Sunday,
Sept. 11.
Action is set for Sunbelt
Rentals Night and the FAST championship for the Fort Ball Pizza Palace
410 Sprints for Saturday, Sept. 10. But just in case Mother Nature has
other ideas - the forecast is calling for a chance of showers and thunderstorms
- the Sunday make-up date has been added.
"There just aren't a lot
of opportunities left to make up events and with all that's on the line
for this race, we wanted to give the race teams and fans every chance to
get this race in," said Farmer.
"Our FAST season has come
down to the final event with three contenders who have a legitimate shot
at the $10,000 championship and we hope this can be settled on the track
in an exciting finish to our season and not have Mother Nature determine
the champion," said FAST organizer Bryan "Swamp" Autullo.
Also in competition Saturday
will be the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints who will be compete
in double features due to an earlier season rain-out. The Fremont Fence
Dirt Trucks will also be battling door-to-door.
Gates will open Saturday
at 4 p.m. with racing underway at 7 p.m. Should Sunday's make-up date have
to be used, gates will open at 3 p.m. with racing underway at 5:30 p.m.
The state is set for one
of the most intriguing championship nights in the three-year history of
the FAST Championship Series presented by Engine Pro & PAC Valve Springs.
After back-to-back visits to the Engine Pro Victory Lane at Attica Raceway
Park, Bryan Sebetto has vaulted into the lead by a slim 13-points over
veteran Dean Jacobs. And, sitting just 32 points back in third is defending
FAST champion and three-time Fremont titlest Byron Reed who has finished
in the top five in every FAST event at "The Track That Action Built" this
season and has two series' victories.
