| The
Kistler Brand Returns as F.A.S.T. Series Title Sponsor for Third Consecutive
Year
MAUMEE, OH (1-7-2011) by
Scott Porter - F.A.S.T. Public Relations
The Fremont/Attica Sprint
Title (F.A.S.T.) is pleased to announce that Paul Kistler, owner of Kistler
Engines and Kistler Racing Products, has agreed to return as the F.A.S.T.
Series title sponsor for the 2011 racing season. This marks the third consecutive
year for the F.A.S.T. Series to carry the Kistler brand. More details on
the partnership will be released prior to the start of the 2011 season.
The F.A.S.T. Championship Series continues to grow, but stays true to its
vision of helping out the local drivers and teams that compete weekly in
the sprint car divisions at Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park in
Northern Ohio. The chase for the 2011 Kistler Cup is set to begin in late
April for the 410 sprint cars and in May for the F.A.S.T. 305 Championship
Series.
“With the success that Kistler
Engines has had over the years, and in 2010 powering Tim Shaffer to the
50th Annual Knoxville Nationals win and helping Byron Reed drive off with
the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title, it is an honor to have an icon in 410
sprint car racing backing our series again in 2011," said F.A.S.T. organizer
Bryan Autullo. "We started this championship series with a vision in mind
to help maintain - and grow - this sport in Northern Ohio. Paul Kistler
shared our vision and has backed us from the very beginning. We’re
proud to carry the Kistler brand into our third season of F.A.S.T. competition."
In its first two years of
existence the F.A.S.T. Championship Series has handed out nearly $50,000
in cash and contingency prizes to more than 30 local sprint car teams with
expanding to include the ultra-competitive 305 sprint car division in 2010.
Craig Mintz was the winner of the Kistler Cup trophy in 2009 and Byron
Reed claimed the 2010 F.A.S.T. Kistler Cup crown. Stuart Brubaker
clinched the inaugural F.A.S.T. 305 trophy in 2010 by just one point over
DJ Foos in an epic battle that saw the top seven 305 drivers finish within
16 points of the championship title.
The F.A.S.T. Series is assembling
the 2011 schedule in conjunction with track promoters John Bores and Rich
Farmer. 2011 will feature a slimmed down schedule for the 410 sprint
car division in order to attract a wider range of drivers who will be able
to compete for the title. At this time the series is planning between
16 and 18 points race dates as compared to 22 dates the past two years.
"The support we have gotten
from John Bores & Rex LeJeune of Attica Raceway Park and Rich Farmer
at Fremont Speedway has been instrumental in what F.A.S.T. has become,"
commented Scott Porter of the F.A.S.T. organization. "Obviously without
the backing of these two great tracks we could not do the things we are
doing. Both promoters are working with us on some ways to help increase
the exposure of the F.A.S.T. events to attract more drivers and fans in
2011."
