FREMONT, Ohio – Who are the
better drivers? The stars of the National Racing Alliance Sprint Invader
360 sprints or the tough weekly competitors in Fremont Speedway’s Fremont
Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints?
Race fans will find out Friday,
Aug. 13 and Saturday, Aug. 14 in the annual NRA-305 Sprint Shoot-out. Friday
the competition is held at the high-banked quarter-mile Limaland Motorsports
Park and moves to the historic Fremont Speedway on Saturday. Joining the
racing action at Fremont will be the 410 sprints as well.
Last year, 305 driver Paul
Weaver took the Fremont feature win over a 360 machine piloted by Brock
Mayes. At Limaland, Darren Long worked his home-track magic to take the
win with Luke Hall and J.R. Stewart making it a clean sweep for the NRA
drivers.
Both feature events will
pay $1,500 to the winner and $225 to start the feature. There is a $200
bonus for the highest finishing 305 sprint in the features.
All 360 sprints must meet
NRA car specifications while all 305 sprints must meet Fremont’s specs
and 1,475-pound weight rule (with driver). For these two events,
all cars may run wing sliders and mufflers are required. All cars must
either run a Hoosier right rear (SC-1 stamped NRA) or Goodyear right rear
(G100 or G200) and G100 left rear.
