FREMONT, Ohio – Some of the best drivers in the United States have competed on the clay oval of Fremont Speedway in the historic Sandusky County Fairgrounds. Now add to that list NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers Tony Stewart and Marcos Ambrose.

Stewart, a NASCAR champion and owner of the historic Eldora Speedway dirt track in Ohio, will pilot his own winged sprint car at “The Track That Action Built.” Joining Stewart will be fellow NASCAR driver Marcos Ambrose and his crew chief, former champion of the All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars, Frank Kerr. Local sprint teams will provide the cars for Kerr and Ambrose.

Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer said there is a possibility a couple of other NASCAR drivers may be on hand as well.

“Frank and Marcos came here last year and raced and had a blast and said they wanted to do it again,” said Farmer.

The exhibition race will be held Thursday, June 10. Admission is just $2 in the grandstands while pit passes are $15. The time of the event has yet to be determined…watch Fremont’s website at www.fremontohspeedway.com for more information.
