FINDLAY, Ohio - As the Ohio
Sprint Speedweek prepares to celebrate its 27th
anniversary, one of the
tracks that helped establish the tradition is
returning to the speedweek
schedule. Millstream Speedway in Findlay will
host night #3 of the Ohio
Sprint Speedweek featuring the O'Reilly All Star
Circuit of Champion Sprints
on Sunday, June 21.
Millstream Speedway in Findlay
was one of the first tracks to host a
speedweek event, traditionally
kicking off the week-long series of racing on
Sunday and drawing one of
the largest fields of cars. The roar of racing
engines returned to the
track located two miles west of Findlay off Exit 159
of I-75 last season, as
the All Stars re-opened the speedway after eight
years of silence.
Millstream owners Greg and
Marybeth Roe have teamed up with Fremont Speedway
promoters Rich Farmer and
Andy James to bring Speedweek back to the
half-mile track on Father's
Day.
"We're excited to be a part
of bringing Millstream back to life. The track
has a strong reputation
of involvement with Speedweek and last year's racing
proved the fans are eager
for racing there," said Farmer. "A big thank-you
to Paul Kistler and Kistler
Engines for sponsors the night of racing."
Joining the All Star sprints
at Millstream will be the exciting 305 sprints.
They will be racing for
$1,000 to win and an increased purse throughout the
A-main.
Gates will open at 3 p.m.
with racing action heating up at 7 p.m.
Tickets will be $20 for
adults; $15 for students and senior citizens with
kids 10 and under getting
in free. Pitpasses will be $30.
Ohio Sprint Speedweek is
being expanded this year to eight races over nine
days. It kicks off Friday,
June 19 at Attica Raceway Park and heads to Tony
Stewart's Eldora Speedway
on Saturday, June 20 before the traveling series
heads to Millstream for
the $5,000 to win event. The All Stars then travel
to Wayne County Speedway
near Orrville, Ohio on Monday before heading east
to Hilltop Speedway near
Millsburg on June 23. Speedweek makes is first ever
appearance at Waynesfield
Speedway on Wednesday before the teams take a
breather on Thursday, June
25. The high-banks of Limaland Motorsports Park
will see the All Stars in
action on Friday, June 26, and wraps up with a big
$10,000 to win show on Saturday,
June 27 at the historic Fremont Speedway.
