Fremont Speedway offers exciting, affordable, family entertainment in 2009
"Track That Action Built" begins 58th racing season on April 18

FREMONT, Ohio - Fremont Speedway has the cure for today's economic woes - exciting, affordable, family entertainment featuring the fire-breathing, ground-pounding Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints; the mud-slinging Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints; and the side-by-side action of the Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks.

The historic "Track That Action Built" will kick off its 58th season of racing action on Saturday, April 18. The 2009 schedule has several special events such as three appearances of the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars including the Ohio Sprint Speedweek finale paying $10,000 to win; two races featuring the Sunoco American Late Model Series; the first ever induction night for the new Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame; the second annual Salute to Our Military Men and Women - America's Heroes; an open wheel shootout featuring the 360/305 sprint challenge; a season championship night; and a non-wing 410/305 night.

"We're extremely excited about the 2009 season and the affordable entertainment we can offer families," said Fremont Speedway Co-Promoter Rich Farmer.

"We learned a lot during our first year at the helm of  this historic race track. We made mistakes... but we learned from them and will continue to work hard to give our teams and fans the best entertainment value we can...
we want them to have fun and leave every Saturday wanting more," said Andy James, Co-Promoter at Fremont Speedway.

Farmer and James are also excited that all the business partners and some new ones have come on board for 2009.

"The response from the business community has been fantastic. Every night is sponsored...heck, we even had to add a date to accommodate the support. None of this would be possible, though, without the fans being supportive of the businesses that back racing, and for that we really are blessed," added Farmer.

Highlights of the 2009 racing season include:

- Kear's Speed Shop Night, Saturday, May 23 - The O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions.

-Underground Utilities Inc. Night - Fan Appreciation Night, Saturday, May 30 - Sunoco American Late Model Series.

- McDonald's Night, Saturday, June 6 - First Induction into the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame/Old Timers' Night.

- Budweiser Night, Saturday, June 27 - Ohio Speedweek Finale paying $10,000 to win. Could a driver win the fourth race of the week at Fremont and earn the $50,000 bonus?

Another highlight of the 2009 season is an increase purse for the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints. The top four finishing positions in the feature have been increased, including $700 to win. The A-main start money has also been increased to $125.

"This has been one of the most exciting and supportive divisions at Fremont Speedway and their purse hasn't seen an increase in quite some time," said Farmer, noting in 2008 there was only one repeat feature winner in the division.

And, for the first time, Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park will crown a combined 410 sprint champion thanks to the efforts of Black Swamp Media Group's Bryan Artullo and Scott Porter. The FAST (Fremont Attica Sprint
Title) will offer award points and a point found completely separate from the two tracks. Drivers will accumulate points during regular race nights at both race tracks. Both race tracks will also reward their own track champions in the 410 sprint division along with point funds.
