FREMONT, Ohio - Steve Rando
drove his 305 sprint car to victory over the
tough NRA 350 Sprints Sunday
on Wilhelm Auto Parts Night at Fremont
Speedway.
In a reversal from Friday's
night's NRA 350/305 Sprint Challenge at Limaland
Motorsports Park, the Fremont
Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints captured
seven of the top 10 spots
at "The Track That Action Built." The race was run
Sunday afternoon after Saturday
afternoon showers.
Rando passed early leader
John Ivy - who normally wheels a 410 sprint - late
in the race and held off
a charging Brad Bowman for his second career
victory at Fremont Speedway.
The 24-year-old Lindsey, Ohio resident made it
to the Engine Pro Victory
Lane aboard the Davis Fabrication, Attitudes Hair
Salon, Garza Construction
backed #19R.
Byron Reed may have started
the season on a slow pace, but the Monclova,
Ohio driver has picked it
up of late as he tries to earn his third track
championship at Fremont
Speedway. He passed Greg Wilson - who towed all
night from Knoxville, Iowa
- late in the 30-lap feature for the Fort Ball
Pizza Palace 410 Sprints
to record his fourth win of the season and the 17th
of his career at Fremont.
Reed's victory came aboard the family-owned Reebar
Diecasting, ProShocks, JEI
Chassis, Schoenfeld Mufflers backed #5.
The Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks
take center stage at "The Track That Action
Built" on Wednesday, Aug.
20, during the Sandusky County Fair. BMS Engines
and Excuses Lounge of Sandusky
will provide the sponsorship for the night of
racing which will also feature
the vintage race cars. There is no racing at
Fremont Speedway on Saturday,
Aug. 16.
