Rains put brakes on Fremont opener

Saturday, April 19, 2008

FREMONT, Ohio - Persistent late evening rains put the brakes on the 2008
season opener for Fremont Speedway on Pepsi Night, Saturday, April 19.

Three of the four Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprint heats had been run
when the skies opened up. Speedway promoters Rich Farmer and Andy James
worked diligently on the track, but the rain continued to fall, prompting
the cancellation of the rest of the racing.

Picking up those heat wins were Stuart Brubaker, rookie Nate Dussel and
Dustin Dinan.

Fans can use their ticket stubs for admission on Saturday, April 26, on Fort
Ball Pizza Palace Night featuring the Fort Ball Pizza 410 Sprints; Fremont
Federal Credit Union 305 sprints and Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks. Gates will
open at 4 p.m. with racing action getting underway at 7 p.m.
