| Fremont
holds the key to Speedweek bonus
By Brian Liskai
FREMONT, Ohio (Wednesday, June 20, 2007)
- Fremont Speedway could hold the
key to a lot of money when the 25th Annual
UNO Sprint Speedweek presented by
RacingJunk.com featuring the O'Reilly
All Star Circuit of Champions pays a
visit to "The Track That Action Built"
on Budweiser Night, Thursday, June
28.
The historical track is the fifth stop
on the seven-day Speedweek tour,
which kicks off Sunday, June 24 at Attica
Raceway Park. If one of the nearly
50 drivers who have registered to compete
in Speedweek - representing 10
states and Australia - can win four features
the seven straight nights of
racing, that driver would take home $50,000.
So a driver could be going for
that bonus by the time the tour hits Fremont,
or, at the very least, has to
leave "The Track That Action Built" with
two wins for a chance at the money!
The 40-lap Budweiser feature will pay the
winner $5,000 as the drivers
compete for the $15,000 Speedweek point
fund.
Fremont Speedway will also be the only
track during the week to feature all
sprint cars, as the track's popular Fremont
Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints
will also be in competition. As a bonus
to the 305 race teams, Fremont
Speedway will be splitting them into two
complete fields - odds and evens in
the season's points - to run two feature
events, each paying $750 to win
(each feature will be lined up by total
points with the top 12 inverted).
Tickets are $22 for adults; $17 for seniors;
$30 for pit passes; $10 for
teens 11-16; and as always, kids 10 and
under get in free.
