By Brian Liskai
FREMONT, Ohio (Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007)
- Fremont Speedway has signed with
Hoosier Tire to follow the National Tire
Rule for 2007.
"The Track That Action Built" will allow
all sprints (Fort Ball Pizza 410s
and Fremont Federal Credit Union 305s)
to utilize the Hoosier 105/18-15,
compounds of SC12, SC15 and SC25 for the
right rear only.
"We want to do what we can to help keep
the cost of racing down and this
Hoosier tire deal will help teams who
run with us weekly and at special
saction events to remain competitive,"
said Fremont Speedway Promoter Jim
Ford.
The retail price of the Hoosier tire is
$183.65
Fremont Speedway's new spec tire rule is
in effect for the 410 sprints on
the season opener, Mountain Dew Night,
April 21. The new tire rule will take
effect for the 305 sprints on their fourth
night of action, Legendz Sports
Bar & Grill Night, May 12. The 305's
will have an open tire rule the first
three nights of the 2007 season.
"We are allowing an open tire for the 305
sprints the first three weeks to
allow them to use any of the former spec
tires they may have. Also, by the
fourth week there should be some good
used 410 tires available for the 305
teams to help them control costs a little
better," said Ford.
Also, updated 305 sprint and dirt truck
rules for the 2007 season are posted
on the track's web site, www.fremontohspeedway.com.
Note, one of the rule
changes is seat belts must be no more
than three-years-old.
Hard copies of the rules will be available
at the spring swap meet at the
Sandusky County Fairgrounds, located at
the corner of Rawson Ave. and North
Street, just south of U.S. 20 and the
Ohio Turnpike, on Feb 24.
