Northern Ohio Sprint Car Show registration opens February 12, 2007

TIFFIN, OHIO (December 31, 2006) NOSCS Event Coordinator "Scoop" Hartzell has announced that the open registration period for race car entries for the 2007 Northern Ohio Sprint Car Show will begin on February 12, 2007. Beginning on that date racing teams may register their car for the show by calling 419-934-9350. Registration is strictly limited to sprint cars, Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway support divisions and karts.
 
The NOSCS is scheduled to run from Friday, March 23, through Sunday, March 25, at the Tiffin Mall in Tiffin, Ohio. Presenting sponsors will again include Attica Raceway Park, Fremont Speedway and Coors Light Beer. A featured event of the weekend will again be the annual Hoserville Ohio Benefit Auction, which is scheduled to begin on Saturday, March 24 at 3:00.
 
"Scoop" is entering his 5th year as event coordinator. During his tenure the NOSCS has gained a reputation for, and is widely recognized as one of the finest mall-based sprint car shows in the nation. This growing reputation is mainly due to the stunning quality of the racecars themselves.
 
"There will be several neccesary changes this year, but with some creative planning these changes will be barely noticable to the fans", says Hartzell. "In 2006 we had 56 full sized vehicles, 14 karts and a number of vendors and exhibitors. This year we are losing the room where we had the vendors and the Hoserville Ohio auction, so a little creative re-arranging will need to be done. Each segment of the show and each class of racecar will likely see a slight reduction in number in order to accomodate the new arrangement. Spaces within the mall that were unused in the past will now be used. Once the limits for each segment of the show have been reached, a waiting list will be created and then called upon as needed. The mall people have been fantastic to work with in the past, so I am sure that they will go out of their way to help us this year as well."  
 
The NOSCS Awards Ceremony will begin at approximately 4:30 on Sunday afternoon. Three main trophy awards will again be given including the People's Choice Award, the Merchant's Choice Award and the coveted Racer's Choice Award. Plaque awards will be given to the Dirt Truck of the Year, ARP Late Model of the Year, and Kart of the Year. Recipients of awards will be limited to one award per racecar. Polling for the People's Choice award will be done throughout the show with each voter required to sign the ballot register prior to receiving their ballot, in order to help prevent fans from voting more than once. Each racing team entered in the NOSCS will receive a Racer's Choice Award ballot, Attica Raceway Park & Fremont Speedway will receive one ballot each, all with the stipulation that they may cast their ballot for any entered racecar except their own. In the event of a tie in any of the polling, the tie will be broken by a concensus of the event staff.
