Fremont Speedway
to host one of the richest 305 sprint races in the country

FREMONT, Ohio (Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006) - Fremont Speedway will play
host to one of the richest 305 sprint races in the nation when the Seventh
Annual Burns Iron and Metal 305 Invitational takes place Sunday, Sept.
3.
The 305 sprint division at Fremont Speedway has produced some of
today's best 410 sprint drivers like All Star Circuit of Champions star
Brock Mayes, Craig Mintz, Bryan Scott, Caleb Griffith, Roger Shammo, Mike
Linder, and Jamie Miller. This year's crop of 305 sprint drivers
is no exception with the likes of Paul Weaver who has won 11 features in
2006 between Fremont and Attica; Bryan Sebetto, who bested a combined field
of 305 sprints and SOD 360 sprints; consistent top five finishers Andy
Shammo and Scott Kraylek; two-time Fremont winner Bobby Foster; Chris Andrews
who has four feature wins this season; and Brad Bowman who has a pair of
Fremont victories in 2006.
"The 305 sprint division has some of the best talent from top
to bottom that you'll find in any class around the country," said Fremont
Speedway Promoter Jim Ford. "This invitational has become a tradition to
not only the drivers and teams, but the fans as well as they have witnessed
some exciting, close racing over the years."
The A-main will pay the winner $2,500! And thanks to associate sponsors
KS Sales & Service and Engine Pro, the rest of the payoff is:
2. $1,000; 3. $700; 4. $500; 5. $400; 6. $350; 7. $330; 8. $320; 9. $310;
10. $300; 11. $295; 12. $290; 13. $285; 14. $280; 15. $275; 16. $270; 17.
$265; 18. $260; 19. $255; 20-22. $250. The Engine Pro is a product
certificate for the top 24 finishers (22 A-main cars and first and second
alternates) with an Engine Pro decal (there will be decals available to
anyone who needs one).
Also, the 305 sprints will be qualifying and the driver who posts the
quickest one-lap time will earn $150 from Dr. Ralph W. Peters, M.D. And,
the driver who passes the most cars in the A-Main will earn the $300 Don
Eckhardt Memorial Hard Charger Award from KOT Trucking.
Fremont Speedway 305 rules apply. Aluminum wheels are okay for this
race only (no bleeders). This race is only open to 305 sprint drivers.
Past winners of the 305 Sprint Invitational are: 2000 - Bobby Foster;
2001 - Bryan Scott; 2002 - Roger Shammo; 2003 - Scott Miller; 2004 - Paul
Weaver; 2005 - no race.
Besides the 305 sprints, the Coors Light Dirt Trucks, limited late models
and school buses will be in action.
Gates will open on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying set
to begin at 6:15 p.m. and racing to get underway at 7:30 p.m.
