55th YEAR
Jacobs find victory lane at Fremont; Weaver, Sebetto share 305 wins; Sabo takes truck loot

By Brian Liskai

FREMONT, Ohio (Saturday, July 29, 2006) - Lee Jacobs knew he was getting
closer to picking up a win at Fremont Speedway as his Burmeister sprinter
was faster and faster every week. It all came together for the Holmesville,
Ohio driver Saturday on McDonald's Night, as he scored his first victory of
the season.

The Fremont Federal Credit Union Sprints were split into two fields - odds
and evens in the point standings - for a complete show for each.

In the first 25-lap feature, current point leader Paul Weaver took the lead
on lap 15 and cruised to his fifth victory of the year at Fremont (his 10th
overall as he has 5 wins at Attica Raceway Park). It was Weaver's 18th
career Fremont victory, moving him into 26th on the all-time win list.

In the second 25-lap 305 sprint feature, Bryan Sebetto dominated for his
second win of the weekend (he won Friday at Attica). It was Sebetto's third
win of the year at Fremont.

In the 20-lap Coors Light Dirt Truck feature, three-time track champion
Steve Sabo took the lead from Aaron Schatzinger on lap 4 and held off
late-race challenges from Bob Dible and Jim McGrath to score his third win
of the season. It was Sabo's 25th career victory at Fremont, tying him for
13th on the all-time win list with his brother, Tim.

All the sprint drivers - in both the 410 and 305 sprint fields - shared in
over $25,000 worth of parts and gift certificates from the Kear's Speedshop
Manufacturers' Giveaways.

For Jacobs, the win was especially nice since his father, four-time champion
of the All Star Circuit of Champions surprised him in victory lane. It was
Lee's third win of his career at "The Track That Action Built."

"I like a tight race car and the track has been a perfect fit for us the
last few weeks," said Jacobs beside his Randy P. Mapus Tools & Equipment
sponsored #16. "I didn't know if I had enough laps to catch Todd (Heller)
but lapped traffic helped us out."

"It helped me to split the field...there are so many good cars in this
division. The track was tricky tonight...you really had to pay attention,"
said Weaver beside his Level Performance #1w.

"It helps to start up front in this tough of a field," said Sabo beside his
Progressive Metals sponsored #16. "I messed up the last handful of
laps...missing my marks...but it was good enough to get us the win."

"Daniel Smith and Bubba Riehl came on board and set this thing up this
weekend...it was easy to drive," said Sebetto beside his Lengendz Sports
Bar, Abdoo Wrecking sponsored #01. "I have to thank Matt Poltner...he gives
us everything we need to go fast."

In the Fort Ball Pizza 410 Sprint feature, current point leader Mike Linder
got upside down on the start. Once the green flew, Heller jumped into the
lead, with Jamie Miller, Todd Kane and Bryan Scott in tow. The caution would
fly again on lap three for a stalled Brandon Martin. On the restart Heller
would resume the lead  with Miller, Kane, Scott and now fast qualifier
Jacobs in tow.

By lap 11, Heller continued to lead with Miller second and the battle for
third between Kane and Jacobs. At the half-way mark, Heller had his hands
full with Miller as Kane and Jacobs continued to fight for third. Miller
would slide off the top of turn two a lap later, putting Jacobs into second
and Kane into third.

Lapped traffic raced side by side ahead of your Heller by lap 19, allowing
Jacobs, Kane, and Phil Gressman to close. On lap 23, Jacobs would drive
under Heller exiting turn four to grab the lead. He would cruise to the win
with Heller, Kane, Gressman and 12th starting Greg Wilson rounding out the
top five.

In the first Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprint feature, Greg Summit
would jump into the early lead with Chris Lang and Ryan Lowe in tow. By lap
seven, Summit continued to lead over Lang, Todd Heuerman and 12th starting
Weaver. Weaver would move into third on lap 10 and into second a lap later.
Weaver would drive off the bottom of turn four to grab the lead from Summit
on lap 14 and cruise to the win. Summit, 11th starting Chris Andrews,
Heuerman and Duane Zablocki would round out the top five.

In the second 305 sprint feature, Vern Menkoff would jump into the early
lead with Benny Bowman, Chad Gullett and Stuart Brubaker in tow. Tenth
starting Sebetto would move into four on lap two, and would be involved in a
four car battle for the lead by lap five, with Menkoff, Bowman and Gullett.
Sebetto would grab the top spot a lap later and build a big lead before the
caution would fly on lap 13.

Sebetto would set sail on the restart and would cruise the victory over
Brubaker, Gullett, Matt Merrill and 11th starting Andy Shammo.

In the Coors Light Dirt Truck feature, Aaron Schatzinger would grab the
early lead with fourth starting Sabo slipping into second and Bob Dible
third. Sabo would grab the lead using the bottom groove on lap four. He
would hold off a late-race challenge by Dible and Jim McGrath for the win.
Corey Ward and 18th starting Dwight Waltermeier would round out the top
five.

Fremont Speedway will be back in action Saturday, Aug. 5 for Brubaker
Auctions Night with the 410 sprints, 305 sprints and dirt trucks in action.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with racing slated to get underway at 7:30 p.m. For
