CAMARGO, IL (4-30-06) The All Star Circuit of Champions is preparing
to take on the tough Ohio regulars at Jim Fords Fremont Speedway in Fremont,
Ohio this Saturday, May 6th. Many drivers on the All Star tour have
cut their teeth on the 1/3 mile clay oval located at the Sandusky County
Fairgrounds. All Star legends Frankie Kerr, Rick Ferkel, Al Liskai,
and Jim Linder called Fremont home over the years. Four time All
Star champion Chad Kemenah got his start at Fremont Speedway as well.
Current All Star drivers Greg Wilson, Brock Mayes, and Brandon Martin have
been turning laps at Fremont for several years.
Tough locals such as Byron Reed and Mark Keegan can give any traveling
series fits when they invade Attica and Fremont. Both are current
All Star members, but do not travel with the series full time. Other
locals who could make things tough for the All Stars are John Ivy, Rob
Chaney, Craig Mintz, Andrew Palker, Mike Linder, Caleb Griffith, and Bobby
Clark just to name a few.
One thing is certain; the All Stars have always put on an exciting show
at Fremont Speedway. The car count will be high in the heart of 410
country and the competition level will be top notch as it has always been
throughout the years.
The All Star series was off this past weekend, but the All Star drivers
didnt take a break. Friday night at Attica Raceway Park, Brock Mayes
finished 2nd in a make up race from an earlier rain-out, then went on to
win the A-main on a last lap pass of Byron Reed. Butch Schroeder
took the win at KC Raceway on Saturday night. Greg Wilson finished
2nd behind Mike Linder at Fremont Speedway on Saturday as well. Other
All Star regulars Brandon Martin, Chad Blonde, Neil Shepard, and Tim Hunter
were in action at Attica, KC, and Fremont over the weekend as well.
