PONCE
INLET, FL - The All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car
series cars and drivers are busy preparing for the traditional
slate of April events, all in Ohio.
Following
the season-opening slate of eight Florida shows, fans up
north are anxiously awaiting the Saturday, April 6 Eldora
Speedway All Star show. Action at the half-mile speedplant
in Rossburg, Ohio is always fast and furious. Last season,
the All Star series visited Eldora four times, with Greg
Wilson winning twice, and Chad Kemenah and All Star champion
Kenny Jacobs each snaring a pair of victories.
The second April show is a doubleheader weekend at Janet
and Doug Holbrook's Attica Raceway Park, located on the
fairgrounds in Attica, OH. The Attica Coors Nationals are
co-sanctioned by the Interstate Racing Association (IRA)
with the Friday April 19 show paying $3,000 to win and Saturday's
(April 20) Coors Nationals worth $7,000. In five shows at
Attica last season, Byron Reed was the top All Star driver,
recording a pair of wins with Rob Chaney, Jacobs and Danny
Smith the other victors.
The month of April for the touring series wraps up on Saturday
night April 27 at the Fremont Speedway, located on the Sandusky
County Fairgrounds in Fremont. The race will also serve
as the season opener for the popular speedway. In action
at Fremont last season, the five different All Star winners
were Kemenah, Rodney Duncan, Mark Keegan, Mike Wagner and
Butch Schroeder.
Expected to see action on the full All Star April tour this
season are drivers like Kenny Jacobs, Chad Kemenah, Dean
Jacobs, Greg Wilson, Danny Smith, Mike Wagner, Bill Rose,
Paul McMahan and Barry Ruble. Other drivers who plan on
making the majority of the shows include Kelly Kinser, Byron
Reed, Phil Gressman, Ed Lynch, Jr., Todd Kane and Butch
Schroeder.
