FREMONT, Ohio (March 15) - Sprint car racing legend Rick Ferkel and his son, Ricky, who is following in his dad's footsteps in the sprint car ranks, will be the guests on this week's The Last Lap radio show.

Ferkel, known as "The Ohio Traveler," is currently the competition director for the World of Outlaws Gumout Support Series. During his driving career, he recorded nearly 400 feature wins, including some of the biggest events in sprint car history.

Ricky Ferkel has recently begun his sprint car driving career, bringing back the familiar off-white and orange #0. He has shown steady improvement over the past couple of years, and is eager to begin the 2002 season.

The Last Lap, hosted by Fremont Speedway announcer Brian Liskai, and extreme-race-fans Scott Barman and his son Andrew "The Dirt Track Kid," airs every Monday at 5:30 p.m. (EST) on WFRO 99.1 FM-900 AM, Fremont, Ohio.
