Randy Ford update
By Brian Liskai
FREMONT, OH (June 30, 2005) - Randy Ford, son of
Fremont Speedway promoter Jim Ford, was seriously injured after being struck
by a sprint car Thursday night at the track. Randy, a former Fremont Speedway
track champion, sustained a broken leg and dislocated shoulder and was
taken by helicopter from the speedway to the Medical College of Ohio Hospital.
Family members indicate doctors were able to repair his shoulder and
he is scheduled for surgery on his leg Friday and should be able to return
home hopefully sometime this weekend.
"I want to thank all the fans, drivers and crews for their prayers
and support of our family. It all means so much to Randy and Deb (his wife)
and our entire family," said Jim and Joanne Ford.
