By Brian Liskai

FREMONT, Ohio (Aug. 27,2004) - Fremont Speedway will play host to one of the richest 305 sprint events in the country on Sunday, Sept. 5, with the Fifth Annual Snyder's Floor Covering 305 Sprint Invitational, paying $2,500 to win.

"The 305 sprint division has been one of our most competitive classes over the past few years. They have been averaging over 45 cars a week and you never know who is going to win," said Fremont Speedway Promoter Jim Ford. "This is our way of showing the fans the great talent this division has and a way to say thanks to all the hard work and money these teams put into their operations."

Besides the huge purse for the A-main (thanks to sponsor Snyder Floor Covering and associate sponsors Progress Plastic Products and KS Sales and Service) there are plenty of other opportunities for drivers to make some cash. The Computer Man Dash, which has a $5,000 payout this season with its own separate point fund (the heat race winners at each regular show compete in a dash where they accumulate points), will hold four different races during the invitational with 16 different drivers in them (no points will be awarded towards the Computer Man $5,000 Dash Championship).

The Fremont Floor Covering Outlet dash will include the top four drivers in the current Computer Man Dash standings that are not in either the Gressman Power Sport Dash or Ezworks.net Dash that night. The Burns Iron & Metal Dash will include the top four drivers in the Fremont Speedway points who are not in the Fremont Floor Covering Outlet Dash or the Gressman or Ezworks dashes. The Gressman Power Sports Dash will include the winners of the heat races. The Ezworks.net Dash will include the four fastest qualifiers who were not heat winners. Those dashes will be followed by a Computer Man Super Dash which will include the winners of those previous four dashes.

The four dashes will pay $40 for first and second, $30 for third and $20 for fourth. The "super dash" will pay $110 to win; $60 for second; $35 for third and $20 for fourth.

The Snyders Floor Covering 30-lap A-main will carry the following payoff: 1. $2,500; 2. $1,000; 3. $700; 4. $500; 5. $400; 6. $350; 7. $300; 8. $280; 9. $260; 10. $250; 11. $240; 12. $230; 13. $220; 14. $220; 15. $220; 16. $220; 17. $220; 18. $220; 19. $220; 20. $220; 21. $220; and 22. $220.

Also, there will be a $100 bonus for the fastest qualifier (one lap qualifying) courtesy of the Last Lap Radio Show. The Don Eckhardt Memorial Hard Charger Award, sponsored by KOT Trucking, pays $300 to whoever passes the most cars in the A-Main.

Fremont Speedway's rules for the 305 sprint division apply and mufflers are required.. Aluminum wheels are allowed for this race only. This race is only open to current 305 sprint drivers.

The Coors Light Dirt Trucks are also on the racing card.

Gates will open Sept. 5 at 4:30 p.m. with qualifying at 6:15 p.m. and racing scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. For more information call Jim Ford at 419-862-2206 (track phone is 419-333-0478) or log onto www.fremontohspeedway.com.
